Rare Disease Day
Rare Disease Day is a global awareness campaign dedicated to shining a light on the millions of people worldwide living with rare diseases. While each condition affects a small number of individuals, rare diseases collectively impact more than 300 million people across the globe.
For many patients and families, the journey includes delayed diagnoses, limited treatment options, and a lack of understanding or resources. These challenges are often compounded by the fact that rare diseases can be complex, lifelong, and misunderstood.
Rare Disease Day exists to change that.
By raising awareness, we help foster understanding, encourage earlier diagnosis, support research and innovation, and advocate for better access to care and support services. Awareness is the first step toward equity, inclusion, and meaningful change for the rare disease community.
On Rare Disease Day—and every day—we stand with patients, caregivers, healthcare professionals, and advocates working tirelessly to improve lives. Together, we can amplify voices, inspire action, and ensure that rare diseases are no longer invisible.
Rare, but not alone.
