Alcohol Awareness Week: Alcohol and Me
Every year, Alcohol Awareness Week gives us an opportunity to reflect on our relationship with alcohol and the role it plays in our lives. This year’s theme, “Alcohol and Me,” encourages honest conversations, personal reflection, and greater awareness of how drinking habits can affect our health, wellbeing, and daily life.
For many people, alcohol is part of social events, celebrations, and routines. But understanding why, when, and how much we drink can help us make informed choices that support our overall wellbeing.
“Alcohol and Me” is not about judgement or labels. It’s about taking a moment to check in with ourselves and ask simple questions:
- Do I drink out of habit, stress, celebration, or social pressure?
- How does alcohol make me feel physically and mentally?
- Am I happy with my current drinking habits?
- Could small changes make a positive difference?
Even modest changes can have benefits, including improved sleep, increased energy, better concentration, and more time and money for the things that matter most.
Alcohol Awareness Week also reminds us that support and information are available for anyone who wants to understand their drinking habits better or make changes.
This week, take time to reflect, start conversations, and consider what “Alcohol and Me” means to you. Awareness is the first step toward making choices that work for your life and wellbeing.
Join the conversation. Reflect. Learn. Make informed choices.
