Introducing Anima – Our New Online Triage System

Uni-City Medical Centre is pleased to introduce Anima, our new online triage system designed to improve how you access care.
Anima helps ensure that every patient is seen by the right clinician, at the right time, in the right place, while reducing waiting times and improving overall patient experience.

Opening Hours

Anima is available:Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 6:30pm

How Anima Works

You can submit your medical request online through Anima. Once received, our clinical team will review your request and determine the most appropriate next steps.
We aim to:

  • Respond to most queries on the same day
  • Respond to routine requests within a few days

Capacity and Demand

On some days, demand for GP appointments may exceed the safe capacity we can provide.
If this happens, Anima will display a message indicating that no further same-day appointments are available.

  • You can still submit a request for a routine appointment
  • If your issue is urgent, please contact reception by phone

Support for Patients

If you are unable to access the internet or do not feel confident using online services:

  • Our reception team can complete the Anima request on your behalf
  • They will contact you with updates and book any necessary appointments

Why We Are Introducing Anima

GP practices are currently experiencing increased demand alongside a reduction in available GP appointments.
Anima helps us to:

  • Prioritise patients based on clinical need
  • Reduce the early morning phone congestion (“8am rush”)
  • Improve efficiency and patient experience
  • Allow GPs to focus on patients who need them most

Repeat Prescriptions

Anima is not currently the easiest way to request repeat prescriptions.
We recommend using:

Is Anima an App?

No, Anima is currently accessed via a website only.
Integration with the NHS App is in progress, and updates will be shared when available. Some communications may already appear in your NHS App.
