World Down Syndrome Day (WDSD) is a global awareness day dedicated to celebrating people with Down syndrome and promoting their rights, inclusion, and well-being.
The date — 21/3 — represents the triplication (Trisomy) of the 21st chromosome, which causes Down syndrome. The day was officially recognized by the United Nations in 2012 and is observed worldwide.
