World Glaucoma Week
Protect Your Vision. Beat Invisible Blindness.
World Glaucoma Week is a global awareness campaign observed every March to highlight the importance of early detection and treatment of glaucoma — one of the leading causes of irreversible blindness worldwide.
Glaucoma is often called the “silent thief of sight” because it usually has no early warning signs. Without regular eye check-ups, vision loss can progress unnoticed.
What is Glaucoma?
Glaucoma is a group of eye conditions that damage the optic nerve, commonly due to increased eye pressure. If left untreated, it can cause permanent vision loss.
The good news: Early detection and proper treatment can help preserve vision.
Who Is at Risk?
You may be at higher risk if you:
- Are over 40 years of age
