Dear Patients,
Please be aware that GPs in the UK are not currently licensed to prescribe mounjaro or any other weight loss injections for non diabetic patients who desire to lose weight.
Only patients who are diabetic and overweight/obese could be considered for mounjaro at the GP surgery, assuming other diabetic medications have failed to work.
For Obese or overweight patients who are not diabetic, we have the well-being service, dietitian referral or oral weight loss medications(orlistat) we can offer you at the surgery.
Only the hospital can decide if mounjaro is safe or suitable for you.

Inclusion Criteria:
· Patient is 18 or over
· Patient must have a BMI of >35 with obesity related comorbidities e.g. metabolic syndrome, hypertension, obstructive sleep apnoea (OSA), functional disability, infertility and depression if specialist advice is needed regarding overall patient management without
(reduced by 2.5 kg/m2 of BMI in South Asian, Chinese, other Asian, Middle Eastern, Black African or African-Caribbean family background)
· or a BMI of >40 without
(reduced by 2.5 kg/m2 of BMI in South Asian, Chinese, other Asian, Middle Eastern, Black African or African-Caribbean family background)
· Patient must have complied with weight loss interventions at Tier 1 and 2(weight watchers, slimming world, wellbeing service) during the past 2 years
Exclusion Criteria:
• Patients must nothave been enrolled on or completed the programme in the past 12 months
• Patients who have already had bariatric surgery
(Individual funding requests will need to have been applied for and approved before referral to Tier 3)
• Patients with serious uncontrolled disease, e.g. angina, asthma, COPD, heart failure, aortic stenosis
• Patients with recent complicated Myocardial infarction and/or awaiting further investigation
• Patients with uncontrolled arrhythmia that compromise cardiac function
• Patients with blood pressure at rest above 180mg Systolic, 120mg Diastolic.
• Patients with unstable psychiatric disorder
• Patients with acute infection
• Patients that are Pregnant or breastfeeding
