🌿 National Self Care Week 2025

Mind and Body – Self Care for Life
17 to 23 November 2025
National Self Care Week is a national awareness campaign that encourages people to take charge of their own health and wellbeing. This year’s theme – “Mind and Body: Self Care for Life” – focuses on the strong link between physical and mental health and how looking after both can help you stay well for longer.

What is self care?
Self care means taking simple steps every day to protect your physical and mental health. It includes the things you do to live well and stay healthy, such as:

  • eating a balanced diet
  • keeping active
  • getting enough sleep and rest
  • managing stress
  • staying connected with others
  • knowing when and how to get advice or treatment from NHS services

Self care helps prevent illness and can support recovery when you are unwell. It’s an important part of living a healthy life.

Mind and Body – why it matters
Good mental health supports good physical health, and vice versa. When you take time to care for your body, your mind benefits too. This Self Care Week, we’re encouraging everyone to find small, realistic ways to look after both.
🧠 For your mind:

  • Talk about how you feel with friends, family, or someone you trust
  • Take time to relax and do something you enjoy
  • Try mindfulness, breathing exercises, or spending time outdoors

💪 For your body:

  • Move more – even short walks make a difference
  • Eat regular, balanced meals
  • Stay hydrated
  • Aim for 7–9 hours of sleep each night

Small daily habits can make a big difference to your long-term health and wellbeing.
